Color Management

The following ICC profile is provided for our customers who also implement color management.

This profile should be used when doing your own CMYK separations, or output to your own calibrated proofing systems, and can also be used for softproofing on a calibrated monitor to get a better idea of how color will appear on press.

Gamut Comparison: A 3-D Visualization

Below is an animated 3D gamut plot of 3 color spaces.

The largest shape being the gamut for RGB. This is the color space of your monitor.

The smallest inner shape is the gamut of a printing press using standard CMYK inks. It is a much more restricted color space than RGB due to the technological limitations of the offset printing process.

The middle sized shape is the gamut of an inkjet proofer. Due to the different type of inks and that some proofing systems use more than 4 colors to help simulate spot and process colors, the gamut is larger than that of a press, though still greatly restricted from RGB.

The visual representations of these color spaces demonstrates how important it is to be aware that certain colors as seen on a monitor, or even in a proofing system, may not be reproducible in standard process colors.
